“sweet chamomile and mint mixed with ripe apricots. Soothingly round, salty minerals and ripe orchard fruits, a twang of citrus adds tension. It tapers off with lovely length and a pleasingly chewy sensation as a hint of sour melon fades.”

Villa Creek Cellars, founded in 2001 by Cris and JoAnn Cherry, is a family-run winery in Paso Robles, California. Originally inspired by their restaurant, the Cherrys began making wine to complement their dining venture. In 2003, they purchased a 60-acre hillside parcel and developed their MAHA Estate, planted at 1,500–1,800 feet with limestone-rich soils and cooled by marine influences. From the start, Villa Creek has practiced organic and biodynamic farming, earning Demeter Biodynamic® and CCOF Organic certifications in 2015 and Regenerative Organic Certification in 2022. Focused on Rhône-style varieties such as Grenache, Syrah, and Mourvèdre, their wines showcase estate and carefully selected organic fruit. After closing their restaurant in 2017, the Cherrys fully committed to winemaking, offering a warm, “cowboy chic” tasting experience featuring both Villa Creek classics and limited MAHA bottlings.
