You won’t find these wines on store shelves—Ballad Wines is a deeply personal project by Garret, assistant winemaker at Midpoint Winery, born from the celebration of his marriage and rooted in love for community and place. What began as a wedding wine has grown into a humble two-wine label: a rosé named Sweet Jo after his wife, and a vibrant carbonic blend inspired by the small towns of California’s Central Coast.
Ballad’s debut vintage was anything but conventional. With no machinery and no harvest crew, Garret turned to his friends—offering nothing but good wine, hard work, and shared purpose. As he puts it, “This part of the ballad is about love for community and place. When a community comes together to work and create, you start to wonder if the real reward is the wine, or the good times born from the work itself.”
Ballad Wines is a tribute to connection—between people, places, and the stories that shape us
