Aromas of crushed strawberries and dried rose petals on the nose. Juicy red fruit and supple tannins drive the palate, and dried herbs and savory umami notes deliver some complexity.
Not all French wines are made with the intention of rewriting the world's standards for wine quality and expectations. Save that for Burgundy, Rhône, or Bordeaux. This red blend (50% Grenache noir, 30% Syrah, 20% Mourvèdre) comes from all over Southern France, from places like the Rhône River, Languedoc, Roussillon, and Minervois. The varieties are fermented separately and blended just prior to bottling. The're not trying to rewrite the wine book, just add a pleasing sidebar to one of the chapters. Sometimes wine ain't art, it's groceries.
